The Brief

Why New Estates Like Butler Need Cameras Early
Butler, Alkimos, Eglinton, Yanchep — Perth’s northern corridor is one long construction zone, and that creates a specific set of problems that established suburbs don’t have.

Camera Placement: Why Each Camera Is Where It Is
This is the part most installers won’t show you, and it’s the part that actually determines whether a system works. VP Security Solution specs placement before quoting, not after. Six cameras in the wrong places are worth less than three in the right ones.
- Rear alfresco
The rear of the house has a large sliding door — the single most attractive entry point on any Perth home, because it’s out of sight from the street. The camera sits under the alfresco eave, angled to cover the door, the full patio, and the approach across the rear yard. Under-eave mounting also keeps the unit out of direct sun and rain, which matters for longevity.
- Side access path
This one covers the narrow run down the side of the house — the meter box, the A/C condenser, and the gate. It’s the standard route onto a property, and on this block it also faces the neighbouring construction lot. Mounted at the gutter line on the corner, it catches anyone entering the side path from the moment they leave the driveway.
- Front elevation and driveway
Mounted under the eave at the front corner, covering the driveway, the front door approach, and the street frontage. This is the camera that gets used most — deliveries, visitors, vehicles pulling up. On a corner-facing angle it picks up plate-height detail on anything in the driveway.
- The hardware itself
VP Security Solution uses turrets over bullets on new builds, deliberately: they’re less prone to spider webs triggering false motion events, easier to aim precisely, and they sit tighter against the eave — which matters when your render is three weeks old and you’d like it to stay looking new.
Why Accupick Is Worth the Upgrade
